A Little More Snow On The Way For Wednesday...But You'll Probably Need Chains On Your Tires If You Plan On Driving Around Portland Today!!!
The Oregon Department of Transportation is requiring chains on all state roads.
There are still snow showers in the forecast for the first part of Wednesday, but nowhere near the foot plus some areas have had since Tuesday afternoon.
Not everybody got dumped on though...the Salem area only reported 2 to 3 inches...while North Portland was hit with a foot...most areas are reporting 6 to 9 inches.
With a Winter Storm Warning in place now through Wednesday afternoon and accumulations still growing, school districts have cancelled classes again.
Thundersnow was also reported during the height of the Tuesday evening portion of the storm, a rare sight for the Pacific Northwest.
Here's what to get ready for Wednesday morning:
There are still some bands of showers moving across the region and they could give us another inch, maybe two, of new snowfall through the morning.
By afternoon any new snow will be over with, and we may even see a bit of break in the cloud cover.
But it won't warm up much today, a high of 31 in Portland.
Expect the cold conditions to stick around for the rest of the work week, with highs only around freezing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
So all the snow we have..it won't be going anywhere until the weekend when we warm up into the upper 30's and around 40.
The Gorge, Central OR Cascades and Central Oregon could see several more inches of snow, so a Winter Storm Warning is in place through Wednesday from the Cascades to the Idaho border for Wednesday.
Late Monday into Tuesday rain returns to the Portland area with highs in the 40s.
Wednesday - More snow poss. during AM commute, tapering off by afternoon - 31
Thursday - AM clouds, PM Sun, Cold - 32
